Mandy Meringue
Prima Ballerina Mandy Meringue had tried the safer options of yoga, pilates and even Zumba to break up her exercise routine, but skateboarding was the only thing she truly loved. Every lunchtime she took her trusty deck down to London's Southbank, where she skated with abandonment until it was time to return to the barre. She'd even begun fusing ballet with skate tricks, resulting in an 'Ollé (a cross between an ollie and a plié)' and a 'frontside en l’air' - a frontside air performed with a triple turn in the air. Mandy believed it was high time that skating was incorporated into ballet and was working on her own version of Swan Lake on skateboards. It was going to be amazing!
